20x25x1 MERV 13: what to buy

Printed size is 20x25x1. This page is only the MERV 13 slice of that size — Honeywell Ultra, Filtrete packs that print MERV 13, and Nordic Pure MERV 13. Fit still depends on actual cut and thickness. Measure and compare brands on the parent 20x25x1 size page (full actual-size table and pack-price table). 2-inch version: 20x25x2 MERV 13.

Pack prices on this page re-checked 27 Sep 2026 where Buy URLs were opened (Honeywell Store and JB Tools match; Amazon cards re-checked 12 Oct 2026 where Amazon showed a buy-box price (US buy-box, ZIP 10001) (Aerostar 6-pack added 21 Oct 2026)).

Same filter, swapped axes: 25x20x1. Order 20x25x1.

What MERV 13 means here

MERV is ASHRAE 52.2, as summarized by EPA. MERV 13 is the band EPA cites as ≥50% capture of 0.30–1.0 µm, ≥85% of 1.0–3.0 µm, and ≥90% of 3.0–10.0 µm. A 1-inch MERV 13 is not HEPA. We do not claim health outcomes. Higher MERV adds resistance: a 1-inch MERV 13 typically drops more pressure than MERV 8 or 11 in the same slot. EPA’s upgrade language is to pick at least MERV 13, or as high a rating as your system fan and filter slot can accommodate, and to ask an HVAC technician if you are unsure. Actual sizes are copied from manufacturer or merchant product copy already on the 20x25x1 page, plus Amazon titles for Filtrete MPR 1900/2200 in this size. Prices below are public shelf/cart snapshots. Honeywell Store and JB Tools re-checked 2 Oct 2026. Amazon Filtrete MPR 1900 4-pack B005GZ8JKC and 2-pack B00TUDHC0O: $61.91 and $35.99 respectively (re-checked 20 Oct 2026; the 2-pack’s featured offer is from Homegoods Shop, ships from Amazon; it was $31.49). Amazon Aerostar MERV 13 6-pack B01CR9JLDI: $51.99 (checked 21 Oct 2026, sold by Amazon.com; replaced the out-of-stock Filtrete MPR 2200 6-pack). Per-filter math is pack price ÷ count, rounded to the cent. They are not live. Shipping, subscribe-and-save, and store-only deals will move them.

3M prints MERV 13 on both MPR 1900 and MPR 2200 family pages. MPR is 3M’s scale, not MERV; compare MERV to MERV. Nordic Pure factory cart pack prices for the MERV 13 24-pack rows below were verified 15 Sep 2026 and re-checked 18 Oct 2026 on nordicpure.com (one-time purchase price; same dollars; select MERV and pack on the factory page). When not to buy MERV 13 in 1-inch

• The furnace or air-handler manual calls for a lower MERV (or a named brand/grade below 13). Follow the equipment, not a search query.
• An HVAC technician says the fan cannot take the extra pressure drop of a 1-inch MERV 13.
• The slot is a 4-inch (or 5-inch) media cabinet. A 1-inch MERV 13 is not a 4-inch media cartridge. See 20x25x4 if that is the printed size.

If you are unsure, ask an HVAC technician. EPA’s wording is at least MERV 13 or as high as the fan and slot can accommodate — not “always MERV 13 in every 1-inch rack.”
